Gwel Y Mynydd development wins LABC North Wales Excellence Award
Beech Developments is celebrating after its 66-home Gwel Y Mynydd site won the Best Volume Developer – Conwy County category at the Local Authority Building Control (LABC) North Wales Excellence Awards.
The site, off Narrow Lane on the edge of Llandudno Junction, was nominated by local Building Control officers. They were impressed by the standard and specification of the Beech homes, which include the latest eco-friendly measures to maximise energy efficiency and protect the development and surrounding areas from flooding.
For Beech Managing Director Matthew Gilmartin, winning the award for Conwy County was just reward for the hard work of the Beech team.
“We are always working to strike a balance between creating the modern homes Conwy County sorely needs to meet growing demand and the social and environmental concerns surrounding the creation of new housing,” he said.
“Because we are all residents of Conwy County we understand better than most the challenge of walking that line so we work very closely with Building Control to get it right.
“GwelY Mynydd is a development we are incredibly proud of and for it to win this prestigious award means the world to us.
