Cultural Conwy 2019
2019 is an exciting year for things to do in the Conwy area! We’ve picked out some of the highlights for upcoming events which include shows, racings, festivals and arts:
16 February 2019 – Visit Conwy Cambrian Rally
This year is the 64th Visit Conwy Cambrian Rally and is a new stage for the first round of the MSA British Rally Championship. Racing throughout Llandudno and the Conwy Valley, this premier event attracts around 150 crews for a fierce day’s competition. So it’s time to rally up the kids and head down to become a spectator, ensuring that you of course follow the spectator’s rules linked here.
22 Feb 2019 - U20s Six Nations Championships - Wales v England
Take your family to watch the under 20s six nations championship Wales vs England at Colwyn Bay. It’s a great way to enjoy our nations favourite sport and experience two great countries go head to head in our hometown! See more here.
21 March 2019 – BBC National Orchestra Wales
The ever-popular family event returns to showcase incredible Orchestra sounds through the big screen alongside popular classics, making for the perfect family concert and a great way to introduce the younger generation into the discovery of incredible new sounds and music, it’ll be sure to have everyone conducting along! 23 Mar 2019 - Great Orme Giant Walk, Llandudno
Starting from 10am and finishing at 10pm, this walking challenge is suitable for all ages and boasts stunning views of the Great Orme and the beautiful Llandudno. There are two choices for the giant walk, either 10 or 20 miles starting from Bodafon Farm Park. To find out more see here.
9 May 2019 - Strictly Come Dancing: The Professionals
Strictly Come Dancing comes to Llandudno this May! Watch the much-loved and popular TV professionals perform live with Strictly favourites including; Strictly champion Katya Jones, 2017 semi-finalist AJ Pritchard and three time Strictly semi-finalist Pasha Kovalev amongst many others! 12 May 2019 – Prom Xtra
Between 10am and 6pm the Colwyn Bay promenade will host Prom Xtra’s family event and offer many things to do for families with; live music, beach activity fun including Segway’s, water sports and creative workshops, adventure activities like rock climbing and a funfair which stretches along the promenade. Best of all this event is completely free to attend with many additional things for kids and families to do especially for those adrenaline junkies, shopaholics and entertainment seekers! 8 June 2019 - Quest Adventure Race
Calling all outdoor enthusiasts! See the return of the Quest Wales in the idyllic village of Betws-y-Coed placed amongst Snowdonia National park. Inspiring and challenging routes consisting of cycles, trail runs and kayaking lie ahead with three different levels, starting from; 25km Challenge route, 42km Sports route and finally the 53km Expert route. This is certainly not for the fainthearted but popping along to offer support and taking on your own manageable quest in Snowdonia may just make for a fun day out too! See here for more information.

3-10 August 2019 – Eisteddfod Festival
Celebrating the culture and language in Wales, this year’s national celebratory festival will be held in Llanrwst, Conwy and aims to attract 150,000 visitors with 250 trade stands and stalls. Showcasing music, dance, visual arts, literature, original performances, all will encompass aspects of the arts and culture in Wales. Find out more about this welcoming festival here.
